A Disney vacation is pure magic, but only if you’re prepared! What you pack can make or break your experience. Thankfully I’ve been enough times to have made the mistakes for you and give you this packing list of things to not forget. This Disney packing list covers all the essentials to keep you comfortable, organized, and ready for the fun.
Park Essentials
Comfortable backpack or sling bag: Choose something lightweight and water-resistant to carry your daily items. I have several of those cute Disney Loungefly mini backpacks and those are great for carrying around the small items all day.
Refillable water bottle: Staying hydrated is key in the parks. Many have refill stations throughout! TIP: In the My Disney Experience app, click on the search icon at the bottom, type “water refill”, then click the “Water Bottle Refill Stations”. Then click “Find on Map” and you can see where every refill station is throughout Disney property. Some are plain water fountains and some are the dedicated water bottle refill fountains.
Portable phone charger: This is a must. Disney has Fuel Rod dispensers. It’s $38 for a new one and you can swap it out any time for a fully charged one, however, you can get one on Amazon for less and just charge it overnight at the end of every day.
Snacks: Save money and avoid meltdowns by packing granola bars, fruit snacks, or trail mix. TIP: On the day of your arrival, place an order through Amazon Fresh. It’s free delivery with a $35 order. Get snacks, water bottles, etc. for your trip!
Poncho or compact umbrella: Florida rain can appear out of nowhere, and ponchos are a lifesaver. Get the one-time-use disposable ponchos from Amazon and bring several. You can toss it when you’re done so you don’t have to try and store a wet poncho.
What to Wear
Broken-in walking shoes: Expect to walk 8–10 miles a day! Comfort over fashion is the rule here.
Light layers: Mornings and evenings can be cool if you’re there in the winter months. Bring a hoodie or light jacket.
Sunscreen and hat: Protect yourself from the sun while waiting in those outdoor queues, and don’t forget to reapply!!
Disney-inspired outfits: Matching shirts or subtle Disneybounding outfits make for great photos!
If You’re Traveling with Kids
Autograph book and pen: A must-have for character meet-and-greets.
Cooling towels or handheld fans: Kids (and adults) get hot fast in the parks. These can be such a relief in that hot Florida sun.
Wipes and sanitizer: For sticky hands and quick cleanups.
Small toys or bubble wands: Great for keeping little ones entertained during waits.
Extras That Make a Difference
Band-Aids and blister patches: Even the best shoes can cause blisters after a long day.
Mini first-aid kit: Include pain relievers, allergy meds, and motion sickness tablets.
Ziplock bags: Protect electronics on water rides and store leftover snacks.
Final Tip
Before you zip up your suitcase, check the weather forecast and double-check your park bag each morning. A well-packed bag means less stress and more time soaking in the magic.
With this Disney packing list, you’ll be ready for anything!
